Eye Care Tips, Free Basic Eye Care Guide for Women

A woman's eyes are her best beauty asset and they express moods and emotions. A woman expresses herself through her eyes and therefore you have to take special care to make them more expressive and beautiful.

Different types / Shapes of Eyes

Wide Apart Eyes: It tends to give your face an open, youthful appearance. This look can be intensified by applying the strongest eye makeup effects near the outer corner of the eye. Keep shadow uniform and within outer corners. Brush lashes straight up.

Close-set eyes: This eye have a dramatic, sultry look. It can be enhanced by concentrating colour near the eye's inner corners. Extend smoky shadow beyond outer corners to exaggerate them. Brush lashes out.

Evenly spaced eyes: These are about an eye's distance apart. They can be made to look special with many eye makeup looks

Small Eyes: They are proportionately smaller in comparison to the rest of the facial features. To enhance small eyes line upper and lower (never inside). Use pale, shimmer, eye shadow. Curl lashes.

Prominent eyes: These eyes which set far forward in the face tend to dominate the facial features. The eyelids are too pronounced. Medium to deep shades of shadow on the lids help to minimize their appearance. Liners applied to the lash bases from corner to corner gives prominent eyes a smoldering and mysterious look. 

Eye Care Tips

Too much strain on your eyes or sickness takes away some of the beauty and brightness of your eyes.  We bring you tips that will help you take care of your eyes and much more.

1. Splash cold water occasionally to eyes to relax them and bring back the sparkle to tired eyes. 

2. Give rest to your tired eyes by applying two thin slices of cucumber as cool compress and relax as you do so. 

3. To remove puffiness under the eyes, use raw potato paste sandwiched between two thin pieces, of (for each eye) and keep on the eyes for 20 minute. 

4. Vitamins A, B and C is very essential for the good care of the eyes. Carrot, celery, parsley, spinach etc contain a large amount of vitamin A. 8 to 10 hours of sleep is a must for bright eyes. 

Simple everyday eye exercises

  • After every hour before a computer screen, close your eyes gently for 30 seconds to relax them.

  • Yoga experts recommend you to rotate your eyes often to relax muscles. Move your eyeballs from extreme left corner to the right corner.

  • Hold a pencil at arm's length and slowly bring it towards your nose, keeping eyes focused at all times. This helps prevent blurred vision.
