Acrotomophilia Sexual Disorder
Acrotomophilia Information
Acrotomophilia is also known as amelotatism. The word Acrotompphilia is derived from the Greek word akron means extremity, tomein means to cut, and philein which means to love.
Acrotomophilia is an intense desire for one's partner to be an amputee.
The reciprocal paraphilic condition in which the partner is an amputee is acrotomophilia or acrotmetophilia (the liking of an amputated extremity); the condition of sexuoerotic arousal being contingent on having an amputee partner, or fantasizing about an amputee, in order to obtain erotic arousal and facilitate or achieve orgasm.
Acrotomophilia was first recognised in clinics as rare phenomenon in the western world in the early 1990s.
Causes and symptoms of Acrotomophilia
Most acrotomophilias tend to be heterosexual white males who are reasonably educated and functional, however there are also some female acrotomophiliacs and homosexual acrotomophiliacs.
