Retrograde ejaculation Sexual Disorder
Retrograde ejaculation Information
In males, retrograde ejaculation occurs when the fluid to be ejaculated , which would normally exit via the urethra, is redirected towards the urinary bladder . The condition is relatively uncommon and may occur either partially or completely. The presence of semen into the bladder is harmless. It mixes into the urine and leaves the body with normal urination.
Retrograde ejaculation isn't harmful. But it can impair fertility.
Men with retrograde ejaculation can still have orgasms.
Causes of Retrograde ejaculation
- Prostate surgery
- Some types of bladder surgery
- Surgery involving the urethra
- Diabetes
- Multiple sclerosis
- Side effect of certain medications, including some psychiatric drugs and medications used to treat high blood pressure and prostate enlargement
Retrograde ejaculation Treatment and Medication
Retrograde ejaculation may cause a couple to experience problems such as infertility , as most sperm do not get to the vagina and the rest of the female reproductive system. Retrograde ejaculation typically doesn't require treatment unless it interferes with fertility.
